Apply for a PAN Card Easily Through Our Branches

South Indian Bank, in partnership with UTI Technology Services Ltd., is authorized to process PAN card applications. Now, you can conveniently submit your application at any of our branches.

How to Apply?

  • Download the PAN application form from our website.
  • Fill out the form and submit it at any South Indian Bank branch along with:
    • Proof of Address (POA) – Xerox copy + original for verification
    • Proof of Identity (POI) – Xerox copy + original for verification
    • Two passport-sized photographs (3.5 cm x 2.5 cm)
  • Processing Fee:
    • Rs125 (including courier charges)
    • For PAN delivery to a foreign address: Additional postal charge of ?866 (to be paid via Demand Draft in favor of UTITSL, Chennai)

Special Instructions for Minors:

  • The application should be submitted by a parent/guardian (who must be an Income Tax assessee).
  • Parent/guardian’s POA & POI must be enclosed.
  • Minor’s photograph must be pasted on the application form.

Application Processing & Delivery:
If the application is in order, the PAN card will be delivered via Speed Post to the mailing address within three weeks.

Why You Should Have a PAN Card
The Income Tax Act 1961 mandates PAN for various financial transactions. From April 1, 2010, failure to provide PAN will result in higher TDS deductions.

TDS Rules Without PAN Submission

  • Tax at 20% or the prescribed rate (whichever is higher) will be deducted on deposit interest.
  • No TDS on interest earned on NRE Deposits in Rupee/Foreign Currency and Domestic SB & RD accounts.
  • For domestic term deposits, TDS applies only if interest exceeds Rs10,000 in a financial year.
  • Form 15G / 15H for TDS exemption on domestic term deposits will be valid only if PAN is furnished.

Important for NRIs with NRO Accounts:

  • Form 15G / 15H is NOT applicable for NRO accounts.
  • TDS will be deducted at applicable rates based on the Double Taxation Avoidance Agreement (DTAA) between India and your country of residence.

PAN is required for:

  • Major identification purposes
  • Investments in the stock market (Primary & Secondary markets)
  • Opening a Demat or Trading account
  • Investing in Mutual Funds
