GST (Goods and Services Tax) is a single, nationwide tax applied to the sale of goods and services in India. If you run a business or provide taxable service inside India, you're required to collect and pay GST using the official GST portal.

Follow these steps:

  • Visit www.gst.gov.in
  • Log in using your GST credentials
  • Go to Services > Payments > Create Challan
  • Enter the tax amount under CGST, SGST, or IGST
  • Choose E-payment or Over-the-Counter mode
  • Select South Indian Bank as your payment option
  • Complete payment via SIBerNet (Internet banking) or at your nearest SIB branch

A CPIN (Common Portal Identification Number) is a 14-digit code generated when you create a GST challan in the GST portal. It’s required for tracking and making your payment.

  • CGST: Tax collected by the central government
  • SGST: Tax collected by your state government
  • IGST: Tax for inter-state transactions

When filling out your challan, you'll enter values under the relevant heads depending on your type of sale.

You can pay GST through:

  • Net Banking (Retail/Corporate) via SIBerNet
  • Over-the-Counter (for amounts up to Rs.10,000) using Cash, Cheque or Demand Draft at any SIB branch
